Makarounas Boutique Winery Bringing New Energy

"Walking through the village Letymbou , lined with beautiful Churches,houses and friendly community. At the begin of my walk my eyes struck by a monument,dedicated to the heroes of the village,sharing they re stories, both sad and honorable. A pleasant smell that frequently accompanies me, variety of citrus ,almond ,fruit ,olive and carob trees.Reaching to an open space, where the morning sun emits a lovely warmth with a beautyfull scenery of vineyards overwhelmed by the majestic terroir surrounded with crystal gypsum, limestone and quartz with the influence of mediterranean climate."

The Winery is situated in Letymbou in the Paphos district about 14,5 km on the northeast of the city of Paphos .

History Meets Modern Winemaking

Theodoros Makarounas cames from a family generations of viticultural history of four generations.

The newly established Makarounas winery emerges to the new era for Cypriot wines.

Investing on Native Odyssey varieties of Xynisteri, Morokanella, Spourtiko (whites) and Maratheftiko, Yiannoudi and Lefkada (reds) are some of Cyprus upcoming gems.

The vineyards

The vineyards cover 17 hectares of land and they are located at an altitude of 400-600 m; they are influenced by the warm Mediterranean climate.The winery has the privilege of being the only winery in Cyprus that sources grapes solely from privately owned vineyards.
